Meet the Team

Managing Editor: Salena Truong

Salena Truong is a Strategic Communications student at Washington State University, Vancouver. In addition to being the Managing Editor of Coug Eats, she is also the marketing coordinator for WSUV TriO SSS since 2025. One of her favorite things to create is mini strawberry cheesecake, the dessert that sparked her love for baking. These mini cheesecakes are more than a simple recipe; they remind her of holidays and family where these cheesecakes were well loved.

Copy Editor: Monique Brown-Carey

Monique Brown-Carey is a Political Science major at Washington State University. She has been the Copy Editor for Coug Eats since 2025. Additionally, she is looking to work in political journalism or an analytical field after obtaining her B.A. Her favorite meal is pot roast with creamy mashed potatoes, a classic year-round dish cooked by her mother growing up. It is a food that has now encouraged her to pursue cooking more intimately and recreate some of her favorite dishes, as well as find new ones.

Cami is a senior undergraduate student at Washington State University, Vancouver studying English Literature. She has been the Web/Layout Editor for Coug Eats since 2025. Additionally, she is a freelance writer, currently working with The Daily News since 2025. One of her fondest memories surrounding food is making scones with her grandfather every weekend growing up. Scones are now her favorite food as it reminds her of these memories.

Marketing Editor: Lonnie Torres

Lonnie Torres is an English student at Washinton State University. Post-graduation, he hopes to become an English teacher out of a love for English studies. He has been the Marketing Editor for Coug Eats since 2025. One of his favorite memories is making pasta for family reunions, it’s become his ultimate comfort dish now, reminding him of the warmth and closeness of those gatherings.
